This seems like another end-of-an-era thing. I learned Morse Code when I was in the Boy Scouts but I can’t remember if it was to get the Radio Merit Badge.
On the other hand, last year Jay Leno did a competition between two Morse Coders and two Text Messengers – the Morse Coders won. Unfortunately, the video is no longer available, but it was interesting to watch.
Thanks for the updates to the links.
I agree that most YouTube video is very poor quality but the kids don’t seem to care.
When I worked at ABC, I was in a department meeting with the President of Broadcast Operations and Engineering discussing ABC’s plans to use 720p. I commented that I thought it was more important to produce content that people wanted to watch. The room went silent.
I guess the FCC’s digital mandate will make the latter point moot – at least with regards to television.
Most of the video links points to ‘n6tv.kkn.net’ which is already obsolete. Here are two sources that are still current (April 2007) from the Jay Leno show.

Flash version or anything on YouTube are very poor in quality. Tonight Show with Jay Leno is in HD. I wish people would post in High Definition on quality site like this:
